Art and Creative Movement
Immersions
At Art for All Time we offer immersions. We feel this is a better term to describe our offerings that often times combine multiple disciplines to create unique experiences involving art.
We offer programs to families, local schools, after school programs, community centers and home schools.
Contact us to schedule a mixed-discipline art experience for your group or to receive a schedule and fees for offerings at our UES location.

One-time entry point at ages 4 - 5, fall only.
Art Salon Petite is part of the Signature Series of offerings from Art for All Time. Like all Signature Series offerings, space is highly limited and by application only. This offering includes elements of art history, performance and visual art and requires an annual commitment for 10 sessions in the Fall and 10 sessions in the Spring. Children successfully completing the salon for 2009-2010 are eligible to return the following year for a more advanced level program. The Art Salon Petite is intended to grow with your child each year. Please be aware there is only one entry point for this program. All children must enter at the ages of 4 to 5, in the Fall only.
This year the Art Salon Petite is hosted by Picasso's "Sylvette", also known as the girl with the ponytail, who will be in full costume and character as she guides our young adventurers through the world of oil paintings. Kids ages 4-5 will join Sylvette, and get to know her role in the life of Picasso, as she explores the emotions and other elements of fine oil painting. Each week will bring a new theme in fine art - landscape, seascape, cityscape, nocturne, floral, still life, portrait and more. The children will then paint their own creations. We will also have a monthly surprise of a guest painter who will talk to the children about their art, what inspires them, their feelings while painting and the feelings invoked from their paintings. Artists and children will paint together. Art Salon Petite is not an instructional class, it is a transformational art experience intended to provoke and inspire little minds to create and develop an early love of fine art.

Story Behind the Art
Essential details:
Highly limited space.
By application only in Fall.
Advancement to higher levels annually for current students only.
One-time entry point at ages 4 - 5, fall only.
Story Behind the Art is part of the Signature Series of offerings from Art for All Time. Like all Signature Series offerings, space is highly limited and by application only. This offering includes elements of art history, storytelling, performance, and early "writing." Enrollment requires an annual commitment for 10 sessions in the Fall and 10 sessions in the Spring. Children successfully completing the experience for 2009-2010 are eligible to return the following year for a more advanced level program. Story Behind the Art is intended to grow with your child each year. Please be aware there is only one entry point for this program. All children must enter at the ages of 4 to 5, in the Fall only.
Story Behind the Art is hosted by Johannes Vermeer's "Girl With A Pearl Earring," who will be in full costume and character as she guides our young explorers through art adventures that include group torytelling, writing and art history. Kids ages 4-5 will learn about the mystery surrounding "the girl" and the painting of her portrait. Children's imaginations will be ignited to make up stories of their own and to think about the idea of inspiration. Children will delight in learning that behind all great works of art there is a story, or we can even make one up! Each week will introduce a new artwork and the mystery or story surrounding it. We'll make up our own stories in a collaborative group story writing process. During the Spring sessions, children will ultimately be inspired to create their own art and compose a story to match. We will also have a monthly surprise of a guest artist, art historian, or gallery owner who will read a story or talk to the children about their favorite stories behind great art. Story Behind the Art is not an instructional class, it is a transformational art experience intended to provoke and inspire little minds to think critically about art and develop an early love for not only the artwork itself but the stories behind it.

Adventures in Fairyland
Companion Series
The Adventures in Fairyland series provides art and creative movement experiences for children ages 2 - 5. Characters from fairy tales, classic literature and great works of art from around the world come to life to present Art and Creative Movement adventures. Our current character in residence is the Queen Fairy Titania from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Children enter a world of magic and make believe under the gentle guidance of the queen fairy.
Color Me a Story
(classes for children ages 2-3 & 4-5)
8 - 10 week sessions
Queen Fairy Titania welcomes the children to her magical world. She shares stories about her life in the woods of Athens as she guides the children through the world of color. Titania sings a song and reads a fairy tale from cultures around the world. The adventure is followed by an accompanying mixed-media, open ended art project that inspires creativity, imagination and decision-making while encouraging thought about the concepts of color, shape and line. The children will be immersed in a hands-on, sensory exploration.
Fairy Movement and Dance
(classes for children ages 2-3 & 4-5)
8 -10 week sessions
For those children who want more, they can join us for this creative movement companion experience. Children put on their fairy wings and pick up their magic wands and go on dance adventures through the woods of Athens. They'll discover the simplest dance basics and then explore creative movement. The focus will be on engaging the children's imaginations through movement and dance and revisiting themes explored in Color Me a Story.
